One of the Lehigh Valley’s best sandwiches is on the move. Wiz Kidz, known and beloved for its interpretation of Philly’s favorite food, is relocating from its current Easton home to a new Allentown storefront, reports local media outlet Lehigh Valley Live.
The eatery, operated by the Bayou Boys (aka Mo Taylor, Cristian Duarte, Jerry Straub, and Matt Weaver), will be moving operations to 751 Union Boulevard. Wiz Kidz will be serving up its final cheesesteak from its present 4817 Freemansburg Avenue home this Sunday, April 27. It will truly be the end of an era; Wiz Kidz has operated out of that location since autumn of 2018.
The Bayou Boys will be launching the Wiz Kidz Allentown location in phases. First up,the restaurant will offer delivery options, available in May. Take-out will be added by late June, and finally, the doors will be open to the full-service restaurant, complete with table service, by the end of the summer.
While the Bayou Boys enjoyed great success in their Easton location, the Allentown spot will allow them to introduce Wiz Kidz to a larger audience. Mo Taylor explains the motivation to 69 News, saying: “we’re looking forward to making this transition. We think it’s going to be better overall for the company and will allow us to service more people.”
