The character entertainment company behind the viral Labubu dolls is expanding into the Greater Philadelphia area.
POP MART will open on the mid-level of King of Prussia Mall between Cole Haan and Venchi. The company currently operates only its “roboshops” at the mall, vending machines functioning as miniature pop-up stores, but now will have a storefront.
“We are excited to open that location in the second half of this year,” a spokesperson told What Now Philadelphia.
POP MART has gained popularity for its “blind box” figurines.
A blind box figurine is a collectible toy sold in sealed packaging, concealing the character or design inside. Buyers know the figurine is part of a series but do not know which version they will receive until they open the box.
The brand is also collaborating on Labubu dolls tied to the FIFA World Cup, which will take place in Philadelphia this summer.
“Our purpose is to celebrate daily moments and inspire through designer toys and fun experiences. Our mission is to light up passion and bring joy around the world. POP MART is not just a brand, it’s a galaxy of creative possibilities,” the website reads.
The Chinese company has expanded rapidly across the United States and other global markets. POP MART operates more than 500 stores in over 30 countries and regions, along with more than 2,300 roboshops and e-commerce outlets.
