After years of waiting, Ted’s Hot Dogs is finally opening in Chandler. The hot dog haven is set to open at 2700 E. Germann Road this coming May. The property was originally acquired, but the pandemic and other issues postponed planning and construction. This will be the second location for Ted’s in Arizona, joining the already existing Tempe location.
Ted’s president, Evan Ortolani, isn’t stopping there, however. The restauranteur and great-grandson of founder Theodore Spiro Liaros, has plans to expand the Ted’s brand throughout Arizona — and beyond.
In an interview with the Phoenix Business Journal, Ortolani expressed his desire to open several more restaurants, saying, “We have seven locations up in Buffalo, I would probably copy the same thing down here, at least have seven locations in the Arizona area.” Ortolani said he plans to procure spots and open restaurants strategically, however: ““I don’t want to overwhelm or flood the market because I want them to be focused and run properly.”
The Ted’s president has had this strategic growth in mind for some time, apparently. The design and construction of the soon-to-open Chandler restaurant is designed as a flagship that can be used as a blueprint for other restaurant throughout Phoenix.
Ortolani isn’t stopping with Phoenix. The executive also has his eyes on Florida, Nashville, and Texas as potential states in which to grow the business.
