Casa Grande Apartments celebrates its groundbreaking today. The project will bring affordable apartment homes to Casa Grande. Several public and private organizations will also fund it.
Casa Grande Apartments to Break Ground Today
Gorman & Company and city officials will celebrate the groundbreaking of Casa Grande Apartments on June 10. The project is located at 115 W. Main Avenue in Casa Grande.
The development will include 64 affordable apartment homes across three residential buildings. The development will preserve and renovate the historic Shonessy House. It will serve as a community space and leasing office.
“The City of Casa Grande is thrilled to have Gorman & Company bring this project to our community,” said Robert Aldous, assistant to the city manager of Casa Grande. “This development will preserve the site’s historic character, support downtown revitalization, and expand high-quality housing options for Casa Grande residents.”
Project Details
The community will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. It will support downtown revitalization efforts and expand housing options for residents. The development will also contribute to the ongoing redevelopment of the Life on Main district near downtown Casa Grande.
“This is a meaningful step forward for Casa Grande and for the families who will call this brand-new community home,” said Sally Schwenn, Arizona Market President for Gorman & Company. “We’re proud to work alongside the city and our partners to bring new housing to the ‘Life on Main’ redevelopment district, adjacent to downtown, in a way that builds on its history and supports its future.”
Funding for the project comes from the Arizona Department of Housing, City of Casa Grande, and BMO. Central Arizona Regional Economic Foundation, Enterprise, and Rocky Mountain Community Reinvestment Corporation also support it. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027.
Casa Grande Apartments is expected to provide much-needed affordable housing to the city’s downtown area. It will support the area’s revitalization while preserving an important piece of Casa Grande’s history.
