Shawarmaati Mediterranean Grill is preparing to expand to downtown Tempe in late August. Though the exact address has not yet been announced, the restaurant will join the brand’s third Valley Location.

The company already operates at 4985 S Arizona Ave., Suite 1, in Chandler, and at 5498 S. Power Rd., Suite 102, in Gilbert.

The Tempe restaurant will be operated by owner Mahdi Hammoud, who also oversees the Gilbert and Chandler locations. Hammoud told What Now Phoenix he is still finalizing plans for the new restaurant but expects the Tempe location to have its own identity.

Being close to Arizona State University is shaping the concept’s development in that area. According to Hammoud, the upcoming Shawarmaati location could have longer operating hours and a different menu. The team is finalizing the exact details before sharing more.

Founded in Amman, Jordan, Shawarmaati Mediterranean Grill specializes in authentic Mediterranean cuisine, including shawarma, grilled meats, wraps, bowls, and other traditional dishes. The concept features a 100% halal-certified menu with meats cooked over a live charcoal grill.

What Now Phoenix will update this article with more details as they become available.
