Fizz N Sip, the North Portland dirty soda shop that went viral before it even opened its doors, is expanding to Milwaukie with a second location at 10909 SE Main Street, expected to open around August, alongside the other new businesses moving into the historic Perry’s Pharmacy Building. Owner Veronika Sakhashchik plans to add a few Milwaukie-inspired drinks to the lineup and partner with local businesses to offer ice cream.

The concept is fun and simple. Customers pick a soda base between Sprite, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, Red Bull, and then customize it with nearly two dozen flavored syrups, coconut cream, marshmallow fluff, and fruit purees. They also have signature drinks that lean towards Oregon history, with names like Punch Bowl Falls, Hood River, and the 1851 — an homage to the year Portland was founded. Expect a few new names inspired by the neighborhood to join the roster at the Milwaukie location.

It’s a natural location for a soda concept. The building once had the Main Street Collectors Mall and Soda Fountain, where generations of Milwaukie residents gathered around it, once occupied by President John F. Kennedy during a 1960 visit. Sakhashchik’s commitment to keeping that fountain alive gives Fizz N Sip’s Milwaukie location a layer of history that the North Killingsworth spot simply couldn’t have.
