A new Mexican restaurant is proposed for Portland’s Rose City Park neighborhood.

Paqui Modern Mexican is planned for 5846 NE Sandy Boulevard, according to a liquor license application with the City of Portland. The space was formerly occupied by a restaurant called Arrowood that closed in late 2024.

According to the liquor license application, operating hours for Paqui Modern Mexican will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (indicating that brunch could be in the cards). The restaurant is expected to feature live music.

Andres Mundo Jr. is listed as the owner.

According to a Crexi listing, the space features a fully equipped bar with 14 taps and two soda dispensers, tables with booth seating, and a private room for small group gatherings or special events.
