Roseline Coffee is preparing to open a new cafe at the former Starbucks location at 2803 E. Burnside Street in Portland, according to the Portland Business Journal. The company is currently submitting permit requests to the city, and co-founder Keith Schuman said the team is expecting to open later this fall.
The company has built a strong reputation across Oregon’s competitive coffee scene for its lighter roast profiles, direct-sourced beans, and creative seasonal drinks. Roseline originally started as a specialty coffee roaster dedicated to creating Pacific Northwest-style coffee. Over the years, the brand has gained popularity not only for its carefully crafted pour-overs and espresso drinks but also for signature beverages such as salted maple hazelnut lattes and rotating seasonal offerings.
The company was founded in Portland in the early 2010s by Marty Lopes and later grew into one of the city’s best-known specialty coffee brands. Roseline continues expanding across the Portland metropolitan area, with the Burnside café becoming its eighth Oregon location. According to the Business Journal, the new space will offer approximately 1,600 square feet.
The Burnside and 28th area has become one of Portland’s busiest food and coffee corridors over the years, known for its walkability, nightlife, independent restaurants, bars, and local boutiques. The neighborhood has developed a strong reputation for attracting popular food and beverage concepts, making it a natural fit for Roseline’s next location.
