Crooked Lane Brewing Company, the Auburn brewery that has racked up dozens of awards since opening in a former movie theater in 2016, including a 2022 World Beer Cup win, a 2017 Great American Beer Festival gold medal, and Brewery of the Year at the 2019 California Craft Brewers Cup, is bringing its craft beers to Roseville with a new taproom and pizza restaurant at 1805 Cirby Way, Suite 3, in a former Gregory’s Pizza space. President and brewmaster Teresa Psuty confirmed to What Now Sacramento that if everything goes well, the doors could open by the end of September.
The driving force behind the new location is Steve Hayer, who joined the ownership group last year alongside Teresa and her husband Adrian Psuty. Hayer is leading the buildout and will run the day-to-day operation once the taproom is open.
“He’s really the driving force behind this taproom,” Teresa said. “He’s really excited to get this off the ground.”
All beer production will stay in Auburn, but the 2,800-square-foot Roseville location will carry the full Crooked Lane lineup alongside a pub food menu featuring wings, salads, and pizza baked in a brick oven. Plans for trivia nights, live music, and private events will bring the same community energy that has made the Auburn brewery a local institution down to the valley floor.
The decision to expand to Roseville was years in the making. The brewery has been sponsoring Iron Rose FC, a semi-professional soccer team based in Roseville, for about three years, a connection that first opened their eyes to the market. The bigger challenge was simply finding the right space.
Teresa, who was recognized as a 2024 Women Who Mean Business honoree by the Sacramento Business Journal, says Crooked Lane is built around welcoming everyone, families, beer lovers, and those who prefer a non-alcoholic option alike.
“We plan to bring the best vibes and we really welcome everyone,” she said. “We are family-friendly. We really enjoy bringing in all kinds of people to come together around a beer.”
