X Noodle and Dumpling is opening its first Elk Grove location at 9620 Bruceville Road, Suite 104, with owner Linfei Zhuang confirming to What Now Sacramento that an October opening is planned. The restaurant will be a new chapter for the brand, featuring an expanded menu beyond what’s available at other locations, with hand-pulled noodles made from scratch, fresh dumplings, and more options across the board.

For Zhuang, the decision to expand to Elk Grove came down to a simple truth: the community didn’t have anything like this close to home.

“Normally, we only go to the Bay Area to eat hand-pulled noodles,” Zhuang said. “So now everyone living out of Sacramento, they can come to our restaurant to try a hand-pulled noodle and see the chef make the noodle from scratch. “

That pitch is a compelling one for a region that has been quietly developing a serious appetite for authentic Chinese cuisine. Sacramento and Elk Grove have seen a wave of new Asian dining concepts in recent years, but genuine hand-pulled noodles remain a rarity outside the Bay Area.

X Noodle and Dumpling already operates a location in Brentwood and Portland, where it has earned a devoted following for its open kitchen concept, fresh-made dumplings, and deeply flavorful broths. The Elk Grove location will build on that foundation while offering a broader menu designed specifically for this new market.
