A vibrant community-favorite pub, 36 Handles Public House is preparing to close its doors permanently. The El Dorado Hills pub is offering half-price draft beers during its final week.
36 Handles Public House Set to Close in El Dorado Hills
36 Handles Public House is well-known for its 36 rotating craft beers on tap, along with its wide wine selection and signature cocktails. About 10 tap of the pub serve regular beers, while the other 26 change regularly.
The pub combines a traditional pub setting with California-inspired comfort food. The pub menu offers elevated scratch-cooked pub fare that can be perfectly paired with cocktails and draft beers. Popular items include 36 Handle Burger, Smithwick’s Fish & Chips, and Buffalo Chicken Sandwich.
On its official Instagram page, the team behind the pub shared the heartbreaking news of its closure. They wrote that it was an extremely difficult decision and mentioned, “We tried everything we could to keep going, but unfortunately, we were unable to make it work.”
36 Handles Public House, located at 1010 White Rock Road, Suite 100, in El Dorado Hills, California, will serve its last meal on Saturday, September 26.
The pub was rebranded and remodeled in 2024. Over the years, the pub hosted live music and events, including birthday parties and other gatherings.

Final Week at 36 Handles Public House
On September 22, the pub team shared a post, the promotion offers 50% off all draft beers while supplies last. The team encouraged customers to visit the pub and “raise a glass with us and enjoy your favorites before they’re gone.”
The pub added a note of appreciation for its current and former employees. The post read, “Your hard work, dedication, personality, and care for our guests helped create the experiences and memories that made this place so special.”
The closure announcement included a thank-you to customers and the El Dorado Hills community.
