A specialty coffee bar and roastery in Historic Folsom is making its way to downtown Placerville.
According to the Sacramento Business Journal, Sociology Coffee Bar will soon open its second site at 564 Main St, taking over the former Tortilla Flats Cantina space (and more recently Rocker Oysterfeller’s).
Founder Kyle Stillman, who launched Sociology in 2020, recently announced the news on Instagram: “Many of you have guessed it and now it’s OFFICIAL: We’re opening our second location for you in another vibrant, historic gem of gold country: Placerville. 😱🎉”
While Stillman has not yet responded to inquiries from What Now Sacramento, fans of the Folsom café can look forward to the same winning menu that put Sociology on the map. Expect a variety of seasonal specials and espresso-based beverages, plus tacos, salads, sandwiches, chef’s bowls, and signature ‘panitos’—a cross between a burrito and a panini.
An official opening date has not yet been announced, but updates are on the way. “We’ll share more as the space comes to life, but soon you’ll be able to fuel up with a Tesora and fill up with a Panito…where the vibes never die—in Placerville,” Stillman wrote.
