CityChurch Video Cafe Renovation has a new renovation project to reshape the well-known church facility on San Antonio’s Northwest Side.

The establishment, which will be located at 9439 Bandera Road, San Antonio, is scheduled for a major interior renovation alongside the addition of a new freestanding entrance canopy, according to project details filed under the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The project, which carries an estimated cost of $700,000, is privately funded and will take place on private land for private use. The work will focus on interior alterations within the existing 8,029-square-foot building, enhancing the current Video Cafe space while introducing a new entry feature.

Construction is expected to begin on October 1, 2026, with completion anticipated by October 1, 2027.

The facility is owned by Bandera Road Community Church, based nearby at 9355 Bandera Road. While the project contact listed is Jerome Oddo, who serves the church as an executive pastor.

Design work is being handled by San Antonio-based firm Purpose Architecture, with Stephen A. Meyer listed as the registered agent of service.

According to information shared on the church’s website, the renovation is part of a broader one-year initiative aimed at funding three building upgrades to better position CityChurch to serve the surrounding urban community.

The church noted that when it first established its presence on Bandera Road more than three decades ago, the area was largely suburban with limited residential and commercial development. As the community has evolved, the church says the planned updates are intended to reflect and respond to the area’s changing needs.

Further details about the renovation’s design concept and intended use of the upgraded space have not yet been publicly released.

What Now San Antonio contacted the church for more details, but they had not responded at the time of publication. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
