A new renovation project could bring a Trulieve location to North San Antonio.

According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), plans have been submitted for a Trulieve Dispensary at 21918 US-281, Suite 101, where an existing 2,753-square-foot space will undergo an interior build-out for mercantile use.

The project is estimated to cost $200,000, with construction scheduled to begin July 20, 2026, and wrap up by September 11, 2026.

Project documents describe the work as a renovation of an existing tenant space. Planned improvements include demolition work, new interior walls and ceilings, updated finishes, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) upgrades to accommodate the new layout.

Property records identify YEK 11 LLC as the owner of the property, while Bobby Joyce is listed as the tenant. The project was designed by Colwell Group, LLC, a Massachusetts-based architecture and design firm that has completed retail projects across the country.

Founded in Florida in 2015, Trulieve has grown into one of the largest cannabis companies in the United States, operating retail dispensaries in multiple states where medical and adult-use cannabis sales are permitted. The company is known for offering a range of cannabis products, including flower, concentrates, edibles, vaporizers and wellness products where allowed by state law.

Texas currently permits only limited medical cannabis through the state’s Compassionate Use Program, and licensed dispensing organizations must comply with state regulations regarding cultivation, processing and dispensing.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the listed tenant for additional details regarding the project, including whether the renovation represents a new Trulieve location, but did not receive a response before publication. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
