Candeeland, an emerging best-in-class indoor playground with food and drink options, is preparing to debut in San Diego with a new location at 2525 El Camino Real in Carlsbad.

The company’s ninth location is set to open within The Shoppes at Carlsbad, according to the company’s website. This is one of four locations in development from Candeeland, which recently opened a new location in Temecula at 40820 Winchester Rd. In addition to the new Carlsbad site, the company is also working on new locations in Burbank, Northridge, and Victorville. Founder Peter Cho tells What Now San Diego that the Carlsbad and Victorville locations will be corporate-owned, while the two Los Angeles sites will be licensed to franchisees. It’s unclear when these new locations are expected to open, but all locations feature a play area, climbing walls, an arcade, and more, plus a cafe, candy store, and private event rooms.

Candeeland is an immersive indoor play center where guests can make family memories as a real-life Willy Wonka adventure comes to life. This innovative concept combines a bright, colorful, safe environment that inspires the imagination and engages children in active play. Candeeland’s mission is to unite families by providing an engaging, clean, safe, and joyous environment for children to exercise their bodies and minds. Candeeland strives to provide an unforgettable experience for children and parents by fostering physical activity, mental stimulation, and social connection. To help refuel everyone, every location features a snack shop/cafe where guests can find a variety of snacks and beverages. All locations also provide hot food options such as pizza and hot dogs.

“Physical activity has been scientifically proven to aid in developing the brain and body,” according to the company’s website. “Candeeland embraces this, with all our play structures designed to encourage movement by exciting the imagination. We want to help build meaningful connections between family and friends because making quality memories with loved ones is part of having a fulfilling life. A new best friend, the first time down a slide, a thrilling game of hide and seek… We aim to create fun and lasting memories for everyone that visits our entertainment centers. Candeeland is a place where people from all walks of life can come together to play and have fun. The more common ground we find with our neighbors, the better all of our lives will be. In our increasingly divided world, Candeeland aims to be a place that strengthens communities by bringing people together!”
