Corner Pizza, a local pizzeria from The Leucadia Co., is working on opening a new location in Carlsbad at 2628 Gateway Road, Suite 120.

The company’s third location hopes to move into the former home of Bantam’s Roost near the Bressi Ranch Village Center, according to recent permit filings from the company. The Leucadia Co., led by CEO Mario Guerra, already has locations of the restaurant in Oceanside and Encinitas. Now, the group is ready to open a third location. There is no exact timeline for this site, but the company’s application is still in review. Once approved, the group will renovate the space.

The Leucadia Co. has made a name for itself through several great restaurants in San Diego County, including Valentina, Moto Deli, and Jaguar Room. Corner Pizza, currently found at 1940 South Freeman Street in Oceanside and 1246 N Coast Hwy 101 in Encinitas, offers a variety of Brooklyn-style pizza, a raw bar with plenty of oysters, and a full wine bar. Both locations are open from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. so that customers can expect the same hours of operation and service at the new site.

The company should have no problems with getting customers in its doors. The restaurant will share a building with YogaSix and Ebullition Brew Works and sit across from F45 Training. While the new Corner Pizza will have to compete with a handful of other restaurants in the area, this will become the go-to spot for a slice of pizza following a workout or after-drinking nearby.
