See’s Candies, an American candy company specializing in chocolates and other confections, is looking to open a new location in Santee at 9862 Mission Gorge Rd., Suite F.
The company recently submitted documents to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality to open a new location in the former home of Everbowl in Trolley Square at Santee Town Center. It is unclear when the new See’s Candies location will open. Customers can expect the company’s selection of chocolates, candies, and other treats.
Founded in 1921, See’s Candies was started by Charles See in Los Angeles, using recipes created by his mother, Mary See. The brand has since grown to more than 250 shops across the United States and internationally. See’s Candies currently operates several locations throughout San Diego County, including shops in San Diego, La Mesa, El Cajon, Chula Vista, Escondido, Del Mar, and Encinitas.
The company says it makes its candy using traditional recipes and premium ingredients, with offerings ranging from chocolates and truffles to its signature lollipops. Its shops also offer candy counters and free samples. See’s Candies is famous for its classic chocolates, brittles, and lollipops, with fan-favorite options like the Dark Scotchmallow, Milk Bordeaux, and Toffee-ettes.
For now, the Santee location remains in the planning stages, with the recent documents providing the latest indication of the company’s plans for the Mission Gorge Road space. The company has not announced an opening date.
