Gold Coffee Shop, a cafe based in Carlsbad, appears to be trying to open a new location in El Cajon at 415 Fletcher Parkway.

Previously, What Now San Diego reported that the company opened its second location in Country Corner Shopping Center in Central Escondido, but that site has since opened and closed. Gold Coffee Shop only operates from its one location at The Shoppes at Carlsbad. Despite closing its second location, the coffee shop continues to push forward, this time with the goal of opening at Parkway Plaza, according to a recent permit filing. It’s unclear when this site will open, and owners declined to comment.

If the company can make this location work, it will be the official second location for the cafe. Currently, the city of San Diego is waiting on the permit applicant before moving forward, meaning it could take a while before this site opens. When it does, Gold Coffee Shop will serve delicious coffee drinks, from lattes to espressos, along with a selection of fresh breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Gold Coffee is the ideal spot to savor every sip, perfect for your morning pick-me-up or a cozy break.

Parkway Plaza will be an excellent location for the company’s second site. However, because it is in a high-foot-traffic area, Gold Coffee Shop will have to compete with Finjan’s Coffee Bean and Cinnabon for its morning customers. Regardless, the new addition to the dining lineup will give shoppers one more coffee option when they visit the shopping center. Another new tenant lined up to join the food court later this year at Parkway Plaza is Janna’s Burgers, Fish, and Fries.
