Julian Beer Company, a Julian-based brewery and restaurant, is preparing to open a second concept in Julian focused on smash burgers, beef tallow fries, and beer.
The company announced the new project on Instagram this month, first reported by SanDiegoVille. While the exact address and official name have not yet been publicly revealed, the concept has reportedly been in development since summer 2025 and is targeting an opening sometime in Summer 2026. The new restaurant is expected to operate as a fast-casual concept, unlike Julian Beer Company’s existing operations.
Julian Beer Company currently operates at 2307 Main Street in Julian and has become a well-known destination in the mountain town since first launching in 2011. The business underwent a substantial revamp in 2018, expanding into a larger gathering space that includes a brewery, restaurant, beer hall, live music venue, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. The venue regularly attracts both tourists visiting Julian and residents looking for craft beer and casual dining options.
The existing menu at Julian Beer Company includes smoked barbecue, brisket sandwiches, pizzas, wings, burgers, and on-site-brewed beer. The company has continued to build a following through its combination of homemade beer, live entertainment, and a family-friendly atmosphere. This will be an excellent landing space for the brand’s expansion, especially as Julian continues attracting heavy visitor traffic throughout the year.
The business is associated with the Marsaglia family, including Pizza Port co-founder Vince Marsaglia. The family also has ties to well-known Southern California craft beer brands, including The Lost Abbey and Pizza Port. While additional details about the second concept remain limited for now, the announcement signals continued growth for Julian Beer Company and its ownership team. More information regarding the restaurant’s official name, location, and opening timeline is expected to be announced closer to launch.
