Native Poppy, a San Diego-based floral design studio and flower shop known for its seasonal arrangements, wedding florals, and “pretty. wild. flowers.” concept, is set to open a new location in Carlsbad at 2621 Roosevelt Street in Carlsbad Village.

The new shop is planned as part of The Roosevelt mixed-use development, according to project materials and leasing information for the site. The development includes residential units and ground-floor retail centered around a pedestrian plaza called Roosevelt Alley. While an exact opening timeline has not been announced, the project is currently under construction and is expected to be delivered in early 2027, according to development documents. Customers can expect Native Poppy’s signature floral arrangements, daily flower menu, and curated gift offerings.

The Roosevelt is a mixed-use project in Carlsbad Village developed by FABRIC, a North County San Diego-based firm focused on community-oriented design. The project includes 25 luxury residential units and five curated retail suites for restaurant and boutique tenants. The retail component is designed around a walkable plaza that supports small businesses and neighborhood activity.

Native Poppy was founded in 2014 by floral designer Natalie Gill and later co-owned by Meghan Blancato. The brand has grown into a multi-location flower shop with stores in San Diego’s South Park and Solana Beach neighborhoods. Its Mission Valley studio also supports weddings, events, and large-scale floral installations throughout the region.

The company is known for its signature stem bar-style floral shopping experience, offering customers the ability to select seasonal stems and arrangements designed in a natural, garden-inspired aesthetic. Offerings also include wedding floral services, from intimate elopements to large installations, as well as a subscription-based Wild Flower Club for recurring deliveries. The brand also carries artisan gifts, candles, and branded merchandise through its retail shops and online store.

Beyond retail, Native Poppy emphasizes seasonal design, local sourcing, and community-driven events. The company regularly hosts workshops and floral experiences while collaborating with local artists on in-store installations. Its approach blends retail floristry with experiential design, making each location an evolving creative space.

Once open in Carlsbad Village, Native Poppy will join a mix of food and retail tenants planned for The Roosevelt, including Bump Coffee. The project’s walkable layout and proximity to the beach, transit, and surrounding hospitality corridor are expected to support steady daily traffic and year-round visitation.
