According to SF Eater, the Bay Area restaurateur and chef behind Norcina plans to debut a new restaurant in San Francisco’s Marina District this summer.

Coming to 3213 Pierce Street, Frankie’s will land near establishments such as the brunch restaurant Blackwood, the Italian eatery Roma Antica, and Super Duper Burgers.

What Now San Francisco spoke briefly with Chef Kaitlynn Bauman, but she could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, Eater introduces Frankie’s as “a moody artisanal bar with lime-washed walls and a huge oven in the middle of the space” where “instead of more pizzas like those at Norcina diners, the restaurant will serve baked oysters and mortadella piled high on buttery brioche.”

“You never know,” Baumann tells the Journal, “maybe a late-night pizza will come out of there once in a while.”

For readers who are unfamiliar with Bauman’s work, the Norcina website offers a brief introduction: “Chef and Owner Kaitlynn Bauman is a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America and a Bay Area local. Kaitlynn has worked for some of San Francisco’s most premier restaurants, including Green’s, Presidio Social Club, and Michael Tusk’s Cotogna. Kaitlynn developed her love for Italian culture and cuisine while spending time traveling through Europe, working at some of the world’s best restaurants.”

Frankie’s on Pierce Street is slated to open in early June. Stay tuned for updates.
