In a bold expansion effort, Sana’a Café has announced plans to launch 11 new locations across California, according to The San Francisco Business Times. Several Bay Area storefronts have already been secured, though the company has not yet disclosed opening timelines for the new cafés.
Its newest location is set to be at 27 Drumm St, in the Financial District, but other stores in San Francisco are planned for 388 Market St. and 689 Townsend St.
Founded on the traditions of Yemeni coffee culture, Sana’a Café blends heritage-inspired beverages with a modern café experience. The growing chain offers a menu of specialty coffee drinks, teas, pastries, and light fare, including Yemeni lattes, Adeni chai, qisher, baklava, milk cakes, and savory items such as shawarma and turnovers.
The company describes its concept as a place where “culture and coffee meet,” combining traditional flavors with contemporary hospitality.
“At Sana’a Café, every cup tells a story,” the company states on its website, noting that its menu is inspired by Yemen’s rich coffee heritage and the warmth of Levantine hospitality. The cafés feature thoughtfully sourced beans, handcrafted drinks, and community-oriented spaces designed to create an elevated yet approachable coffee experience.
