A neighborhood favorite pizza chain, Tutta Bella, announced the closure of its two prominent locations in Seattle. The pizzeria will close its original Columbia City and downtown Seattle locations next month. The restaurant is scaling back its operations in multiple locations.
Tutta Bella to Close Two Seattle Locations
Popularly known for serving Neapolitan-style pizza, the Italian pizza chain is downsizing its brick-and-mortar locations. Tutta Bella will close its flagship store in Columbia City and another outlet in Downtown Seattle’s Virginia Street on October 2.
The chain built a strong following in the community with its traditional wood-fired pizzas, classic Italian starters, scratch-made meatballs, and other signature dishes.
In a social media announcement, the restaurant chain shared that the Columbia City and Downtown Seattle restaurants are officially closing. The chain also mentioned that it has recently closed the “University Village and Kirkland Urban” outlets.
The restaurant chain thanked the community and team for their support and said, “We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported both locations – most of all our employees, who have taken care of our guests, and of each other.”

Tutta Bella’s Seattle History
The Columbia City location was founded in 2004 by Joe Fugere and was the original location of the restaurant. Inspired by his travels to Naples, Joe decided to introduce the “true Neapolitan pizza, along with the warmth and spirit of the people of Naples, to Seattle.”
The pizza chain has since served the community with Neapolitan cuisine and warm hospitality for more than two decades.
Talking about the closure of the restaurants, the team stated that they considered many other options, but after careful consideration, they have decided to close the doors.
“Columbia City has been part of our story since 2004, and Downtown Seattle has become a beloved and convivial gathering spot for its neighbors during the time it’s been open,” said the team.
Other Locations Remain Open
While the Seattle locations prepare to say farewell, the pizza chain will continue to serve its Neapolitan pizza, salads, and more. The chain’s products will remain available at Lumen Field, local grocery stores, and club stores.
Additionally, the Wallingford, Bellevue, and Issaquah locations will also remain operational. Customers can visit these locations to enjoy their favorite Tutta Bella dishes.
In the post, the team encouraged the community to visit the Columbia City and Downtown area restaurant before it closes permanently.
The closure of Tutta Bella’s Seattle locations marks the end of a longstanding legacy of Italian dining.
