The Goddess and Grocer will open a fifth brick-and-mortar in Chicago’s West Loop this year. The upscale grocer currently operates four other shops in Bucktown, Gold Coast, River North, and O’Hare. The company’s West Loop location will serves its gourmet sandwiches at 911 W. Randolph St, where it will join the many other shops and restaurants eager to open in Fulton Market.

According to The Goddess and Grocer’s website, its newest location will feature a walk-up window, counter seating overlooking Randolph St, and a large patio that will be dog-friendly (always a good sign).

The Goddess and Grocer actually got its start as a backstage catering company. The company, which still offers catering services, has baked for mega-stars like Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, and Beyonce.

In addition to made-to-order sandwiches and salads, The Goddess and Grocer sells prepared foods, desserts, groceries, and wine and beer. The company’s substantial menu covers everything from coffees and teas to donuts, bagels, chopped salads, and wraps. Eater Chicago reports the company recently brought on Chef Alisha Elenz of mfk. and Waldorf Astoria. You’ll be able to find some of her bites at the new brick-and-mortar as well as old staples.

Speaking with What Now Chicago on Friday afternoon, founder and Owner Debbie Sharpe said she is hoping for a mid-December opening of the newest location. Keep an eye on The Goddess and Grocer’s social media for updates.
