A new bar is on its way to the mixed-used development in the R street corridor. A liquor license transfer has been filed for a new concept called Day Tripper at 1629 S ST, inside a new development called The Richmond, which is anticipated to complete construction later this year. The news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal.

According to license information, Day Tripper is registered by Chase the Sun, LLC, which appears to be a subsidiary of Irish Hospitality Management, a hospitality group operated by the de Vere White brothers, Henry and Simone de Vere White. The license is being transferred from Pre Flite Lounge, which operated at 1011 10th Street before closing its doors permanently.

Irish Hospitality Group is the creator behind several popular concepts, including Ro Sham Beaux and The Snug. The group also previously operated the de Vere’s Irish Pub locations in Sacramento and Davis. Emails sent to the de Vere Brothers regarding Day Tripper were unanswered by the time of this coverage.

Located inside the historic R Street corridor, The Richmond is a four-story mixed-use ground-up development project. The project features approximately 8,900 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and 47 luxury apartments above. According to the complex’s website, leasing for The Richmond residencies will begin in Summer 2024.
