The Puffer Malarkey Collective, aka Chef Brian Malarkey and business partner Chris Puffer, have announced their final restaurant project together.

San Diego Magazine reports their collective has reacquired ownership of Herringbone in La Jolla from Tao Restaurant Group. Malarkey and Puffer had sold the entity to Hakkasan Group in 2014 before changing hands to Tao.

Under the Puffer Malarkey Collective, Herringbone will be updated from its well known California Coastal Cuisine into a Parisian-style steakhouse. The group currently operates the fine dining establishments Herb & Wood, Herb & Sea, and ANIMAE in San Diego, along with Herb & Ranch in Irvine.

No update from the restaurant group as to when the steakhouse transformation will occur and how long of a closure we can expect for the remodel. For more information on all concepts by the Puffer Malarkey Collective, visit their Website.
