The team behind La Clochette Cafe & Bakery is getting ready to expand the brand with a new location in Mission Valley and a new concept in Solana Beach.

Brother and sister restaurant duo Willy Wu Jye Hwa and Karine Beers operate the French cafe from Pacific Beach at 4680 Cass Street after relocating in 2019 from its original outpost in La Jolla. Now, the business siblings are getting ready to open a second location in Mission Valley, followed by a new concept called CTZN Bar & Restaurant, opening in Solana Beach, according to SanDiegoVille. These eateries are expected to open before the end of the year.

The company plans to first open a satellite cafe in the former home of Hommage Bakehouse within Mission Valley’s Civita community, located at 7995 Civita Boulevard, Suite 11. This location of La Clochette Cafe & Bakery is expected to open in Spring 2024, mainly offering a to-go menu with plenty of pastries, muffins, sandwiches, and other grab-and-go items, as well as coffee, tea, and other beverages.

After the company opens its second location, the owners will launch a new concept called CTZN bar & restaurant at 343 South Highway 101, Suite 110, on the base floor of Solana Beach’s Sandbox, an office, retail, and residential complex that is currently under development. While few details have been made available, the new restaurant will feature a tapas-centric menu fusing Northern Spanish Basque cuisine and California flavors and an onsite bar serving cocktails, beer, and wine. CTZN is expected to open in late 2024.
