Consortium Holdings Hospitality Group is no stranger to redeveloping critical properties throughout San Diego and is now working on a new project in Coronado.

Consortium Holdings, also known as CH Projects, has made a name for itself through several new concepts and redevelopment around the city. In North Park, the group is working on Leila, a 5,000+ square-foot Middle Eastern-style bar and restaurant expected to open this June, while in Little Italy, the group is working to build Dreamboat, a boutique hotel, two restaurants, offices, and a wellness center, plus a new concept in the former home of Starlite. This all comes after a massive redevelopment of the LaFayette Hotel.

Now, the group, led by founder Arsalun Tafazoli, is getting ready to complete an overhaul of the La Avenida Inn property at 1315 Orange Avenue, according to SanDiegoVille, who reported on the majority of new details. Tafazoli entered into a long-term lease for Coronado’s 29-guest room La Avenida Inn in 2022, with intentions to upgrade the property significantly with a new restaurant, cafe, and other features. Plans include renovating rooms, upgrading the pool, adding patio and lobby bars, and building a brand new, 4,372 square-foot yet-to-be-named onsite bar & restaurant, which will be a Greek/Mediterranean-inspired brasserie with a menu created by Consortium’s Director of Culinary Operations Perfecte Rocher.

The parking lot at La Avenida will be replaced with an abundantly landscaped outdoor restaurant featuring outdoor seated dining with built-in banquette seating underneath an ivy-covered steel trellis structure painted black. Adjacent to the lobby area of the hotel, the group will add a new walnut wood with a calacatta marble café bar, while a new patio bar will be installed behind the trellis-covered dining area overlooking the pool, which will have new chaise lounges, scalloped edge umbrellas with contrasting piping, and four new ornate lampposts. Other additions to the property include a large rock waterfall near the north wall of the hotel’s exterior.
