A new sushi restaurant, Kura, is poised to make its debut at 1324 Peabody Ave in Midtown, taking over the space previously occupied by beloved Bhan Thai, which closed its doors in 2021. Co-owner Vincent Pham is diligently preparing the establishment for its upcoming launch and has not yet set a grand opening date.

While Pham has kept details under wraps, the 3,208-square-foot establishment is designed to accommodate up to 75 patrons. The menu will feature a selection of sushi and an array of alcoholic beverages, with sake likely to be included.

It’s worth noting that this restaurant is independent of and not affiliated with the expanding Kura Revolving Sushi Bar franchise. Stay tuned for more details, and get ready to savor a unique sushi experience in the former home of Bhan Thai.
