Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, the chain known for its bold Hawaiian coffee blends, is bringing another location to Colorado Springs. This new spot, located at 13491 Bass Pro Drive, Suite 120, is readying to open, representatives tell What Now Denver.
Founded in 1989 on the Big Island of Hawaii, Bad Ass Coffee was inspired by donkeys that carried coffee beans down steep Kona mountainsides. True to its roots, the company proudly offers 100% Hawaiian coffees, including sought-after Kona coffee and beans sourced from Kauai and Molokai.
At the upcoming Colorado Springs location, customers can expect a full menu of Hawaiian-inspired coffee drinks, teas, and signature beverages like the Bad Ass Mocha and Aloha Latte. The café-style setup features seating but no drive-thru.
Lee Wilwerding, a multi-unit franchisee for Bad Ass Coffee in Colorado, owns and operates this new location. Bringing experience from his years as a seasoned java enthusiast, Wilwerding fell in love with Hawaiian coffee on a trip to Hawaii and has since expanded the brand locally.
“The opening of another store in the greater Colorado Springs area by developer Lee Wilwerding is validation of the tremendous customer demand that Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is building here in Colorado as well as nationally,” said Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii CEO, Scott Snyder. “Lee and his team have built a great reputation for sharing amazing customer experiences we know Colorado Springs residents will enjoy in this new store.”
