According to Sacramento city records, Chick-fil-A has filed Phase 1 construction plans for approval for a new restaurant. The new location will be across the street from Sacramento State’s Folsom Hall, in a 2,960-square-foot space at 7919 Folsom Blvd.

Chick-fil-A, an Atlanta-based fast-casual chicken restaurant chain, is best known for chicken sandwiches and various dipping sauces. Founded in 1967, this family-owned chain now operates more than 2,800 restaurants throughout North America with 10 locations in the Greater Sacramento area.

According to construction plans, the new restaurant will include an outdoor patio area with approximately 20 seatings and a dual-lane drive-through window. The restaurant will not have any indoor seating areas. The 3-acre site for the new restaurant is located on the northeast corner of Folsom Boulevard and Hornet Drive. The project, valued at $1.1 million, is currently awaiting city commission review.

The space is leased through Campus Executive Center Investments II, LP, and construction will be led by 4G Development and Consulting, a construction management firm based in San Diego. By the time of this coverage, a representative from the Chick-fil-A corporate was not available to provide comments or a more detailed opening timeframe.

Chick-fil-A has also filed new plans for upcoming locations within Arden-Arcade’s Country Club Plaza and Roseville’s Blue Oaks Retail Center. The corporation has also expressed potential interest in a location in Carmichael.
