An unstoppable convenience juggernaut is eying Lebanon as its newest home. Beloved East Coast fixture, Wawa, is hoping to open a location on the site that previously housed the Quentin Riding Club, reports local media outlet Penn Live.
The proposed Wawa is still in the exceptionally preliminary stages. Quentin Associates LLC, the owners of the lot at 2500 Quentin Road, are hoping to make the multi-purpose establishment the opening salvo in their development of a mixed-use oasis, complete with apartments, stores, and restaurants.
While Wawa has traditionally provided customers with fresh, made-to-order take-away meals, the Lebanon store will allow guests the option of enjoying their food onsite. If approved, the store will encompass 6,000 square feet and will feature a sitting area, as well as the other conveniences enthusiasts have come to expect from what has become a well-loved institution.
The Wawa is still awaiting approval from West Cornwall Township for a zoning special exception. It is too early in the process to reasonably estimate a potential opening date.
Wawa cemented itself as the convenience store of choice for East Coasters in 1964. Founded in Folsom, Pennsylvania, the establishment now has 1,017 locations in Maryland, Delaware, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington D.C.
Wawa customers can order a wide-range of customizable, made-to-order sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Additionally, the establishment serves hot bowls, soups, sides, and the ever-popular seasonal favorite, the Gobbler.
