Long serving the Miami community in its location at 2146 NW 36th Street, La Nueva Banana Cafe & Grill is now marked Permanently Closed on Google Maps. But the story of this local Honduran and Peruvian restaurant does not appear to be ending there. Plan review paperwork was submitted by Nueva Banana Restaurant & Grill Inc. for a restaurant at 3305 NW 32nd Avenue, only blocks away. La Nueva Banana appears to be moving.
Still searchable on DoorDash (where it is “temporarily unavailable”) La Nueva Banana offers a menu whose Most Ordered dishes include Ceviche de Camarones, Baleada Con Todo (Big tortilla with fried beans, sour cream, and steak), and Tacos Mexicanos (served with chicken, steak, or pork).
What Now reached out to owner Lesly Cruz on Wednesday to inquire about plans for a move. Cruz was not immediately available to discuss La Nueva Banana.
The 32nd Avenue location is situated at the intersection with Northwest 33rd Street, just north of Mexican restaurant Taqueria Los Dos Amigos 2 and El Comondon Supermarket.
