The owner of the highly successful Empire Wingz in Baton Rouge is planning a major expansion outside the Capital Region, and the first stage of that expansion will be a new location in Ascension Parish. Vic Smith has signed a lease for a new Empire Wingz location at 705 S. Burnside Ave. in Gonzalez, which is slated to open this fall. The restaurant is known for its Buffalo-style chicken wings and boneless wings that come slathered in a variety of sauces. The new location will feature both a bar and dining area.

A new Empire Wingz restaurant in Ascension Parish is just the first step in expansion plans that include new locations from New Orleans to Houston. Smith will reportedly launch an Empire Wingz food truck in New Orleans as a sort of pilot project before committing to a brick-and-mortar location. The restauranteur is also hoping to connect with former LSU football players for franchising opportunities.
