A new Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop is opening later this spring in Fort Lauderdale. Brought to the area by partners Genese and Dannie, the new ice cream shop will open at 2630 W Broward Blvd, according to plan review paperwork.

“We’re still early in the process, probably opening in May,” Genese told What Now on Thursday. “We’re super excited, and hoping to open many more.”

Genese and And Dannie also franchise concepts like Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Genese says that as they began looking into ice cream concepts, Ben & Jerry’s was no-brainer.

“Everybody knows Ben & Jerry’s. It really fits with our portfolio. And there are lots of cool flavors you can’t get in the grocery store.”

Many of Ben & Jerry’s signature ice cream flavors are themselves household names (we’re thinking of the famous Cherry Garcia or Americone Dream), and there are many more, including gluten- and dairy-free choices.

The new Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop will join the retail center on the southeast corner of West Broward Boulevard and Riverland Road, joining restaurants like Golden Krust, Okinawa Teriyaki & Sushi Express, IHOP and Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
