Daruma Ramen is a successful Asian fusion restaurant in Prairieville, and the owners are planning to open a second location after purchasing a building for it at 3669 Government St. in Baton Rouge. According to The Advocate, owners Shi Jian Zheng and Stacy Chen recently closed on the property and are preparing to start renovations, which is expected to last eight months. In addition to selling its namesake dash, Daruma Ramen also offers many classic Asian American dishes originating from China, Japan, Taiwan and other countries in the region. Daruma has offered occasional fusion dishes such as honey chicken and waffles and a Cajun omelet with crawfish. The new restaurant will also offer a full bar alongside Daruma’s range of non-alcoholic boba teas.
