With restaurants in Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Coral Springs, Fat Boyz Barbecue is a beloved South Florida-born barbecue chain offering “amazing flavors, premium quality meats, and delicious handcrafted sides.” The brand is expanding to a fourth location, this time in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, at 706 South Federal Highway.
“Don’t worry we have been doubted before, yet because of you our loyal customers, we remain the only local multi BBQ restaurant in all of South Florida to Orlando!” the restaurant said in an Instagram post this week, announcing the upcoming location. “Thank you for believing in us!”
Coverage by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel announced the location as well.
“[Fat Boyz] specializes in dry-rubbed St. Louis spare ribs kissed with hickory and spice, Texas-style brisket, smoked lean pastrami and its Big Daddy sandwich, a combo of pulled pork, chopped brisket and mac ‘n’ cheese on a Kaiser roll,” the coverage said.
No opening date has been announced yet for the new location. What Now reached out to owner Jarael Holston-Jones on Wednesday to inquire about plans for the opening. Holston-Jones was not immediately available for comment.
