The Memphis-based youth advocacy group Knowledge Quest will be opening a new eatery, Green Leaf Container Cafe and Farm Stand, on 1025 College Street, according to a recent Certificate of Occupancy reviewed by What Now Memphis.

It will be housed in a roadside steel shipping container that was formerly occupied by a non-profit farm-to-table restaurant and community garden called Radical Tacos.

Since 1998, Knowledge Quest has been providing much-needed social services to kids and families in the South Memphis area. In 2010 it opened a three-acre urban micro-farm to fulfill the unmet nutritional needs of the community. Now through its Green Leaf Learning Farm program, students and community members help make its USDA certified organic produce.

Knowledge Quests’ CEO Marlon Foster said he was not ready to disclose details about its developments at press time.

The organization’s mission is “to vigorously equip youth and their families to maximize their potential through education, wellness and economic stability,” according to its website.
