TacoNGanas, a popular food truck chain boasting five locations across greater Memphis, is set to diversify with its inaugural brick-and-mortar establishment, located at 1730 S Germantown Rd.

Taking over the current location of Uncle Goyo’s Mexican restaurant in Germantown, the site will rebrand and transform into a vibrant TacoNGanas cantina. The restaurant is set to open in early March 2024.

Owner Greg Diaz, a prominent figure in both religious and business circles in Memphis, is currently under federal investigation for wage-related issues. The spotlight on Diaz intensified due to allegations suggesting the possible illegal recruitment of numerous taco workers from Mexico, subjecting them to prolonged hours for meager wages. Amidst lingering uncertainties surrounding the investigation, there is growing apprehension about the ongoing TacoNGanas expansions.

Despite concerns from the public, Diaz has unveiled plans for several more taco trucks in addition to the upcoming restaurant, including locations strategically situated Downtown and in Southaven’s Silo Square.

TacoNGanas maintains a consistent menu across all its trucks, featuring an array of street tacos, tortas, quesadillas, and Mexican pizzas. However, the upcoming restaurant will host an expanded menu, providing patrons with a broader culinary experience.

As the community awaits new developments on the food front, the cloud of uncertainty surrounding Greg Diaz’s federal investigation casts a shadow over TacoNGanas’ burgeoning enterprise.
