The West Loop is getting a “Caribbean-inspired” venue with brunch and live music this fall. Tribe has filed a liquor license application for a new lounge at 1239 West Lake Street.

There aren’t many details on Tribe thus far, but based on its website, it appears Caribbean-soul cuisine and craft cocktails are on the menu. The space will also boast twelve VIP sections and an elevated stage for live music, which will entail “eclectic” performers. Tribe plans to hold both day parties and nightlife events.

Behind Tribe is Christopher Morris, who also owns Refuge Live at 416 South Clark Street. Refuge Live is known for hosting a variety of different types of artists and events beyond typical DJ sets, like poetry slams, comedy shows, paint-and-sip events and the like.

What Now Chicago has reached out to Morris for comments and will update this story with more details.
