Something new and upscale is coming to Pilsen.
Humito 18 is the name of a new concept in the works at 939 W 18th Street. It comes from Lazaro Cerdan, the owner of Ahuevo in West Loop. Right now, an opening date is not set for the location.
“Built with intention. A space where every detail matters… from the cocktails to the food, the music to the energy in the room. A place made for long conversations, shared plates, late nights, and one more round. We’re not trying to be the biggest. Just one of the best experiences you’ll have. HUMITO,” says the description on their website.
Right now, there is not a menu available online. However, Cerdan said it will be a restaurant and cocktail bar “designed to offer a unique dining experience” in the neighborhood. Mezcal drinks, tequila, Mexican whiskey, and handcrafted cocktails will be main drinks options. Tapas and shareable plates with Mexican flavors are also planned.
The restaurant will be on the south side of W 18th Street, near the corner of S Sangamon Street. This is close to Chocolat Uzma, as well as Simone’s Grill. The Halsted Street Metra station is a short walk from the storefront.
Humito 18 only has a website right now, and no social media. What Now Chicago has reached out to Cerdan and is awaiting comment.
