A coffee shop centered around community is coming to the south end of the suburb.

The team at Northbrook’s Bean Bar is getting ready to start construction on a new larger coffee shop at 565 Roger Williams Avenue in Highland Park. This will serve breakfast and coffee in the morning, and cocktails and dinner in the evening. An opening date has not been established, but owner Serah Cicek is hoping to open by next summer.

In a recent post to social media, Cicek showcased the new space that will feature a kitchen, espresso and cocktail bar area, seating and another bar in the back with patio space. The parking is going to be around 2,000 square feet.

“It’s going to be so beautiful when it’s done,” Cicek said in the post. She added it will be a space for students to come study and locals to socialize.

At the Northbrook location, 1901 Cherry Lane, the staff serves coffees, teas, hot chocolates for drinks, with a wide range of breakfast, lunch and baked items. A few of their breakfast options are a bagel with bacon, egg and cheese, a breakfast burrito and egg with truffle. Alcoholic drinks are also sold, like wines, beer and mimosas.

Bean Bar will be under construction on the north side of Roger Williams Avenue, next to Hue nails in Highland Park. This is also close to Nico Restaurant and Fluffy Bunny Coffee Shop on the same side of the street. The Ravina Metra station is a short walk from the building.

What Now Chicago has reached out Cicek and is awaiting comment. More information on Bean Bar can be found on their Instagram or Facebook pages.
