In early 2022, Life Time, a health and wellness company, will open a 126,000 square-foot athletic club alongside a 39,000 square-foot coworking space in Chicago’s River North. Life Time River North at One Chicago is setting up shop in downtown Chicago’s tallest residential building in order to provide the residents and surrounding community “with luxurious spaces designed for the ultimate healthy lifestyle.”
According to a press release, the athletic resort will come equipped with amenities like the Kids Academy, featuring dedicated Kids Studio classes, sports training through GameFace Sport, Spanish immersion, homework help, and more, including a unique outdoor play area and Kids Gym; LT Recovery with compression, massage, and chiropractic services; and LifeSpa which offers salon and spa services, including hair, nail, esthetician and massage.
The LifeCafe will provide patrons a dining option with indoor and outdoor seating, and likely adult beverages, as Life Time River North filed a liquor license application with the City of Chicago on December 7th.
In addition, Life Time will bring an Outdoor Beach Club to downtown, which will provide cabana and lounge seating, an elevated Aqua Lounge with two whirlpools, an indoor sky-lit lap pool, a regulation-size basketball court, and dressing rooms with whirlpool and cold plunge suites.
Life Time currently operates ten athletic resort destinations throughout Chicago’s suburbs. These offer boutique studios, over 400 pieces of training equipment, and thousands of square-feet of exercise floor.
In addition to these luxuries, Life Time’s premium coworking space will feature ergonomic work stations, live plants, natural light, and food and beverage options.
The brand’s Preview Center, located at 33 W. Chicago Avenue is already open daily; there you can learn more about the club, get your photo taken, and sign your membership agreement in anticipation of Life Time’s opening early next year.
