Schaumburg will welcome the first Midwest location of Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, the Orland-based entertainment venue with locations in Georgia and Texas. The Village of Schaumburg announced plans to bring the brand to its 23-acre entertainment district, 90 North East, which is being developed around the Schaumburg Convention Center and Renaissance Hotel.
The Daily Herald reports Andretti will anchor the 8-acre first phase of the development on the west side of the Renaissance Hotel. Andretti will purchase the site for $6 million and invest another $30 million in the build-out of an 80,000 square-foot facility, which will feature multi-level karting tracks, an arcade, a two-level laser tag arena, bowling, virtual reality attractions, 10,000 square-feet of event space, and a full restaurant and bar.
According to the company, Andretti, which caters to the young-adult and young-professionals demographic, will pull one million visitors annually to the Schaumburg site and employ 350 people.
Taking its name from the famous race car driver and co-founder Mario Andretti, the company was founded in 1999 in Roswell, GA. The original location closed down in January 2020 to make way for the newly opened Buford location.
We reached out to representatives from Andretti but did not hear back at the time of publication. To learn more about the venue, find Andretti Indoor Karting & Games online.
