Nutrition is an important part of feeling better, and The NIK (Nutrition Is Key) will soon offer a variety of nutritious products to Wheat Ridge residents.
Dayza Valdez and Ivonne Macias are co-owners of The NIK at 4980 Kipling St., Wheat Ridge. Valdez told What Now Denver that they will offer meal replacement protein smoothies, protein donuts and waffles, and protein coffee.
The NIK will also offer an option for gym-goers post workout. “We’re going to have a special protein shake for them for post recovery to help with sore muscles and that muscle growth,” Valdez said.
Energy teas, which Valdez said will include around 140 grams of caffeine, B12, and other vitamins, are also on the menu. “It will give you that clean energy.”
They currently serve smoothies part-time after fitness classes in Arvada, and The NIK will serve as a full-time smoothie bar in Wheat Ridge. They plan to continue expanding to new areas to offer the community healthier food and beverage options.
The NIK will also serve as a space for information to those wanting to help expand the concept. Valdez said each expansion would be independently-owned under new business names, but the nutritious smoothie concept would remain the same.
Valdez said nutrition is important. “If you take care of yourself—you eat good foods, you provide your body with that good energy—you feel good.”
If everything goes according to plan, The NIK will open in early December. Jessica Smith with Madison Commercial Properties was their leasing agent for the property.
