The minds behind popular dining spots Rolf & Daughters and Folk have another concept up their sleeves. According to recent reporting, a new concept from Philip Krajeck called Junior Restaurant and Wine Bar will open at the former Piggly Wiggly grocery store on 917 Dickerson Pike. The business is in the planning and permitting phase, meaning a tentative timeline for opening may be anywhere from six months to a year or more. An official opening timeline is forthcoming.

Although many of the details about Junior Restaurant and Wine Bar are still in development, it’s likely the restaurant will be an upscale wine bar focusing on quality seasonal ingredients and unique flavor combinations, as Krajeck’s two other concepts implement. The new concept does not yet have a website or any social media pages created.

At Rolf & Daughters, Krajeck serves up multifaceted dishes and small plates, like his stracciatella, satsuma, mokum carrot, brown butter, yuzu, and ramp dish accompanied by a handcrafted cocktail menu and a sleek, modern interior. At Folk, Krajeck has created more of an Italian-inspired restaurant specializing in sourdough pizza and a natural wine selection in East Nashville.

The new concept will join the upcoming Fancypants restaurant, announced in September as a vegetable-forward concept from the team at Butcher and Bee and Redheaded Stranger, as well as an unnamed concept from Alexis Soler of Old Glory and Bar No. 308.

Nashville-based Oxford Architecture is designing the space for Junior Restaurant and Wine Bar in collaboration with another local company, Fulmer Lucas Engineering, according to a document submitted to the Metro Development and Housing Agency.

What Now Nashville reached out to Krajeck for additional comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication.
