Dirty soda franchise Swig is making a splash in the Nashville area with its first recently-opened location in Brentwood. Franchise owner Mark Kunz also has an upcoming location in Spring Hill expected to open this spring, as previously reported by What Now Nashville.

However, Kunz has more expansion plans in the works. In an interview with What Now Nashville, Kunz shared that he has plans for 15 locations throughout the Middle Tennessee market, with plans to target neighborhoods like South and East Nashville, Mt. Juliet and Lebanon. Kunz hopes to open three locations in Murfreesboro, as well.

He hopes to open his 15 locations over the next five years.

With Swig, which finds its roots in Utah, locations are relatively simple and do not require much square footage, Kunz says. They can have a drive-thru only model, or they can include a lobby, allowing for flexibility when scouting locations.

Kunz said he thinks people are attracted to the brand because of the simplicity and great taste of the product. The franchise offers drinks like Life’s A Peach (Dr. Pepper, vanilla, peach and half & half) and Dirty S.O.P. (Dr. Pepper, coconut and peach).

“It’s just a really fun, fast-paced environment,” Kunz said. “It’s exciting inside.”

Swig is expanding to markets across the country, adding to the more than 100 locations it has opened since 2010.
