Elk Grove is getting a new restaurant from experienced local operators.

Interlude Kitchen & Bar is planned for a 7,400-square-foot space at 8295 Laguna Boulevard, Sacramento Business Journal reports. It is expected to be an American restaurant with Italian and French influences, according to the news outlet.

The concept comes from Allen Kou and Won Trinh, the team behind Sacramento restaurants Prelude Kitchen & Bar and Zinfandel Grille.

Prelude Kitchen & Bar, located at 1117 11th Street, opened in 2021. It offers “fine dining quality in an upscale yet relaxed setting,” specializing in modern farm-to-table fare that showcases ingredients from the Sacramento region. Zinfandel Grille, located at 2384 Fair Oaks Boulevard, has been serving Italian cuisine in Arden-Arcade for more than 30 years.

Interlude Kitchen & Bar is expected to be similar to those existing restaurants, with some additional offerings. Tom Patterson will be the lead chef.

The restaurant, expected to open by the end of 2025, is going into the building at the Laguna Gateway shopping center formerly occupied by Romano’s Macaroni Grill. It is located at the intersection of Laguna Springs Drive and W. Stockton Boulevard.

Elk Grove is located just south of Sacramento.
