According to recent reporting in The Business Journal, The Justice Pub co-owner Ian Ranne has announced that his bar at 315 E. Bay St. will vacate when its lease expires at the end of March.
“There are lots of reasons for this, mostly financial, but I’m resting well knowing I did my best, facilitated and curated some good art of many genres,” Ranne posted to Instagram.
“Cheers to new beginnings and another year around the sun,” Ranne wrote. “My immediate plan is to shower the world famous @shantytownpub with all my love and effort and enthusiasm and make it the best space possible going into our third decade and beyond, and I’ll likely dip my grubby fingers into another project of some sort before I turn 46, I imagine.”
What Now Jax briefly reached Mr. Ranne who confirms that he will be focusing on Shantytown and that, yes, a new concept will come at some point.
As to what exactly that may be?
“I have no idea yet,” Ranne says. “There’ll be a new idea eventually, but there’s no rush on that.”
