According to a recent permit filing, Dragon’s Head Cider is set to open its doors in Vashon, located at 9815 SW Bank Road.

A Dragon’s Head Cider representative did not immediately return What Now Seattle’s request for comment.

While an official opening date has not yet been confirmed, Dragon’s Head Cider describes itself as holding firm in its commitment to producing exceptional hard ciders using a traditional approach. Unlike many other cider producers, Dragon’s Head Cider adheres to a philosophy of simplicity, refraining from using apple juice concentrate, excessive sweeteners, or additional fruits in their ciders.

With a belief in the inherent storytelling power of apples and pears, Dragon’s Head Cider focuses on preserving the natural flavors of these fruits. Dragon’s Head Cider ensures unparalleled quality and taste by controlling every step of the cider-making process, from pressing to bottling.

In 2010, Wes and Laura Cherry embarked on a journey to Vashon Island with a vision of cultivating an orchard and establishing a cidery. Today, their orchard flourishes with thriving cider apple and perry pear trees, forming the foundation of Dragon’s Head Cider’s success. The Cherrys’ unwavering dedication and meticulous approach have earned them accolades, with their ciders now available in Washington and Oregon, according to the company website.
